PRICING OVERVIEW
Visiting Geeks charges consist of two parts: A per-call
Service Visit Fee of $59 and a quarter-hour rate for work performed.
We charge a Visit Fee because of the real costs to our techs in
time and fuel to visit our customers all over the North shore.
We charge an hourly rate because it's a much fairer way
of billing for our highly experienced technicians' time. This
saves our customers money when compared to typical flat-rate
pricing of junior technicians typically found at big box
retailers. Big box retailers charge by the piece. Each piece's
price may appear small, but you need to buy a lot of pieces in
order to make your computer run smoothly. We don't charge by the
piece; rather, we'll work on as many computers as you want, at
the same time, saving you money.

Residential & Home-based Business Customer:
Customer agrees to pay a residential service labor
charge per quarter hour of $30.00. The minimum
charge for a residential service call is $119, plus
parts. (service visit fee + half-hour minimum
service labor charge).
Commercial Customer with 9 or less computers: Customer agrees to pay a commercial service labor charge per quarter hour of $33.75. The minimum charge for a commercial service call is $194.00, plus parts. (service visit fee + one-hour minimum service labor charge).
DROP OFFS
Customers who bring their computers to our service
repair center in Merrimac, Mass. are charged a
minimum $60 diagnostic fee, which includes the first
15 minutes of repair. Additional work is billed in
quarter hour increments of $30.00, plus parts.
WE ACCEPT
COMPETITORS' COUPONS
We accept almost all competitors' coupons.
Just tell us what you have and we'll let you
know immediately when you call in. The answer will
most likely be, yes. The coupon must not have
expired. And it needs to be from a computer repair
company based north of Boston, including very
southern Maine and NH. Coupons of any kind may not
be combined.
GREATER NEWBURYPORT CHAMBER
OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY MEMBERS
We offer a
10% discount to all Newburyport Chamber
of Commerce members and their employees. We confirm
your membership at the time of our visit with the
chamber's membership Web site listing, and/or your
recent pay stub.
SENIOR CITIZENS DISCOUNT - We gladly offer a 10% discount to senior citizens; those 65 years of age and older. We confirm your age by asking for identification at the time of our visit.
MILITARY
DISCOUNT - We gladly offer a 10% discount to
those who serve or who have served our country. We
confirm by asking for your military ID at the time
of our visit.
PARENTAL CONTROLS HELP

Visiting Geeks will come to your north of Boston
home and install parental control software on one PC
for only $119 + the cost of the software. Offer
includes: secure installation and configuration of
parental control software and basic training. At
this time we recommend Cyberpatrol. It retails for
approximately $40.

The following agreement must
be signed before any work begins.
WHY?
We do this for several commonsense reasons.
It lets everyone know what their part in the visit
is, what we charge, how we get paid, plus it gives
us permission to work on your equipment. It also
says we have no idea what the current condition of
your equipment is and protects us from unpredictable
events when starting our work.
It makes our insurance people happy. It makes our
attorney happy; well, sort of.
Building Networks , LLC/dba Visiting Geeks
Service, Payment, Terms and Release of Liability
Customer agrees to the following terms for services
rendered by Building Networks, LLC/dba Visiting Geeks. Rates may change
without notice. Payment is due at completion of
visit. We do not provide phone support. Customer
agrees to pay a service visit fee of $59 for
Visiting Geeks to provide on site computer services
at customer’s home or office. There is a $25
return check fee.
Residential & Home-based Business Customer: Customer agrees to pay a residential service labor charge per quarter hour of $30.00. The minimum charge for a residential service call is $119, plus parts. (service visit fee + half-hour minimum service labor charge).
Commercial Customer with 9 or less computers: Customer agrees to pay a commercial service labor charge per quarter hour of $33.75. The minimum charge for a commercial service call is $194, plus parts. (service visit fee + one-hour minimum service labor charge).
DROP OFFS
Customers who bring their computers to our service
repair center are charged a minimum $60 diagnostic
fee, which includes the first 15 minutes of repair.
Additional work is billed in quarter hour increments
of $30.00, plus parts. Repairs left more than 10
days from completion will be charged a $20 per day
storage fee and discarded after 30 days.
Business Hours
Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 8
a.m. to 2 p.m., excluding holidays. All other hours
are considered emergency hours and billed at higher
rates.
OTHER TERMS
Customer understands they’re solely responsible for
their data and for backing up their data prior to
any work performed by Visiting Geeks. Visiting Geeks
strongly encourages customers to back up their data
daily. A backup is not considered complete until the
customer restores the data and tests that data
successfully.
Customer acknowledges his/her responsibility to provide safe and clear passage to computer equipment to avoid incidental damages, including damage to walls, desks, etc. Customer acknowledges Visiting Geeks may need to move fixtures, drill holes, etc. to gain access to provide computer services. Customer acknowledges there is potential for loss or damage.
Customer gives Visiting Geeks and its representatives permission to work on customer’s computer including installing/removing software and hardware, manipulating the operating system, deleting viruses, etc. Customer understands they’re solely responsible for any licensing agreements between themselves and software/hardware vendors/manufacturers, and that Visiting Geeks may refuse to install software if customer can’t show ownership.
Customer agrees they will not solicit work from any of Visiting Geeks contractors or employees for computer related services, without the prior approval of Visiting Geeks. This agreement shall remain in force for one year, beginning with the date of customer’s last completed service with Visiting Geeks. This agreement includes all geographic locations where Visiting Geeks customers reside.
If at any point the customer refuses to pay or has an outstanding balance, Visiting Geeks reserves the right to stop work until payment is received for all work performed and expenses incurred.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
The customer agrees to release and hold harmless
Visiting Geeks and its representatives from all
liability customer may suffer for damage or loss as
well as any material or financial damage or loss
including, but not limited to, loss of data,
non-functioning computers, peripherals, software,
hardware, that may result from the actions of
Visiting Geeks and its representatives. The laws of
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts shall govern this
contract. Any dispute concerning this agreement
shall be heard within the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts.
