Triton
Regional High School Electronics Recycling
Fundraiser Huge Success
Triton Regional High School’s Music Parent
Organization teamed up with Visiting Geeks, a
Merrimac-based on-site computer repair company, to
coordinate an electronics recycling fundraiser this
past Saturday at the school. After just four hours
of recycling, TMPO receives a check from Visiting
Geeks for $1632.
"We were thrilled with the community support," said
Sharron Senter, Visiting Geeks chief recycling
coordinator. "One recycler had more than 15
electronics jammed in their car to donate. Recyclers
all the way from Newburyport and Salisbury came to
donate their electronics, and of course, many Triton
parents.”
Visiting Geeks coordinates electronics recycling
fundraisers with North Shore schools as part of
their community outreach program. Schools receive
forty percent of the recycling funds collected.
Schools provide the volunteers and get the word out
to parents and community members, while Visiting
Geeks provides the trucks and manages the safe
disposal of the electronics.
